I lost my twin brother, Ben,

partially due to an avoidable cutting of his bus route during the pandemic. Ben had autism and could not drive, so the #10 bus was his primary mode of transportation.

In 2022, Ben spoke to Knoxville's transit board about how he relies on the #10 bus and that he,

“...want(s) them to just drop me off at Kingston Pike because all the cars. I don't want to get hit by the cars, which can be dangerous.”

He told them how the #10 bus allowed him to get to lunch at Sunspot with our Dad reliably and safely.

A year later on the way to lunch, Ben was struck and killed by an impaired motorist while walking on the Kingston Pike sidewalk.

Right now, millions of residents like Ben who rely solely on public transit are at risk of losing their primary modes of transportation in the Chicagoland area.

If we do not act now to find a long-term and sustainable funding solution, many more of our most vulnerable and valuable populations will be relegated to the sidewalk.

Everyone deserves reliable public transportation and we need your help to get there.
